For Kicks and Giggles: "La même robe"!

P.S.- For you guys who can't speak French....watch it anyway! It's hillarious and I'm sure you catch the just of it :-)

P-P-P-P-Puckface, P-P-P-Puckface

Sean Avery, the professional NHL player (who played left wing for the New York Rangers when he wassn't being suspended for beating the crap out of someone) who also famously interned at the Vogue offices under the watchful eye of Anna Wintour is getting his own movie. New Line Cinema has picked up the rights to the film and given it the name Puckface (clever). The romantic comedy will chronicle Avery's experiences as an intern. Honestly, I'm not so sure this movie is the best idea...for several reasons. First, most women aren't going to have the smallest clue who Sean Avery is. Second, we all know his internship at Vogue involved nothing more than macking on all the "clackers" in the office, then cruising off to Fashion Week to mack some more from his front row seat at the Marc Jacobs and Narcisso Rodriguez shows. Lastly, making a movie of Avery's experience as an "intern" is extremely misleading to all the Running in Heels watching girls and hockey playing boys everywhere: No girls, interns do NOT sit front row at Fashion Week (they rarely even get to go) and, No young male NHL fanatics, Vogue will NOT hire you as an intern and you will NEVER be taken seriously again by your male friends, even if they do. So, New Line, for the sake of all that is good can we please put Hamish Bowles in Avery's place on the soundstage and call it a day? Thanks.

Au Revoir Bryant Park, Bonjour Damrosch Park?

After 15 years of calling Bryant Park home (even that name is synonymous with the bi-annual event), New York Fashion Week will packing up and heading to Damrosch Park at the Lincoln Center. Providing a 25% increase in square footage, many show goers, including Anna Wintour, are in favor of the move. “Lincoln Center may actually prove to be easier to traverse between shows, as Chelsea and the West Side are on the same axis,” says Linda Fargo, Vice President of Bergdorf Goodman. The proximity of this new space to other areas of the city means fashionistas will no longer have to chase after cabs in 4-inch heels, sprinting from show to show. The move won't be happening until September 2010 (or the S/S 2011 collections), so enjoy the 4x4 box-like atmosphere of Bryant Park while you still can, my friends.

The September Issue

Need I elaborate further on this movie poster? Didn't think so. The rights to the documentary have been purchased by Roadside Attractions production company and the film will debut on the silver screen in, well, September. Something tells me this is going to mean (a) big money for A&E, (b) big money for Vogue as I anticipate 2009's September issue will, indeed, fly off newstands and (c) big money for the fashion industy as the movie's release date coincides with Fashion Week. Good job, Anna.

Save Anna

Having a little fun with the recent news that Anna Wintour might be replaced at Vogue, New York artist Christopher Lee Suavé has designed these screenprinted tees of the notorious editrix. It's a hillarious statement item that'll have all your friends (and those in the know) giggling for days. I just ordered mine from Seven New York, but they're also available at Hint and Jewcy. Get 'em while they're hot!
