The moment we've all been waiting (or, should have all been waiting for anyway....but you've been forgiven) for has finally materialized into that tangible light at the end of the tunnel. Last summer UK based fast-fashion retailer Topshop (with whom Kate Moss did that wonderful capsule collection) announced that they'd be coming stateside with plans to open a Soho flagship in September 2008, which would have been just in time for NY Fashion Week. Well, I was in New York City for Fashion Week. I was also standing on the corner of 478 Broadway. In the rain. All day. Staring up at a big sign which read "TOPSHOP: OPENING FALL 2008". Needless to say I arrived back in Richmond with just as many Topman shopping bags as I had taken (i.e. none). The opening date had been pushed back even farther due to contruction delays. But, alas, my days of online shopping and paying outrages international shipping charges appear to be over because it has just been reported that the NYC Topshop Opening Party is set for March 26 2009 at 9 p.m. Can't wait!
